About the Project
The overall objective of the PROGRES project is to promote gender equality, encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities in the sports sector and specifically in football, by promoting gender mainstreaming within football federations and associations.
PROGRES will improve the participation of women in the management and administration of football associations / federations while employees of these organisations and stakeholders in project areas will be able to identify the benefits of equal opportunities and adopt a gender-mainstreaming attitude promoting gender equality in football. The improved participation of women in the male-dominated field of managing football associations / federations will constitute an exemplary practice of promoting equal opportunities in football and will create opportunities for replicability of the project approach in other sports.
The project’s approach is based on an approach consisting of 4 stages within the scope of identifying and addressing the inclusion of women in the management of football federations, thus promoting equal opportunities and social inclusion in sports: Identification, Capacity Building, Methodologies and tools, Awareness, replicability and sustainability.
